Preparation of the melon: Start by peeling the melon and getting rid of the seeds and fibres. Cut the flesh into small, uniform pieces.
Cooking (optional): Melon is generally eaten raw and fresh. However, if you prefer to lightly cook the melon for a softer texture, you can steam it for a few minutes until tender.
Mashing: Place the melon chunks in a blender or food processor. If you decide to cook the melon, make sure it cools before continuing. Start blending on low speed and gradually increase speed to a smooth consistency.
Add water (optional): If you feel the porridge is too thick, you can add a little warm water or breast milk/formula to adjust the texture. Be sure to add water in small amounts so as not to dilute the porridge too much.
1/2 ripe cantaloupe (can be cantaloupe, honeydew or any sweet variety).
Water (optional)
